Caregiver: Float - Full Time 7A 7P or 9A 9P
About The Position
Senior Helpers Madison is hiring a full-time float caregiver to work one-on-one with clients in their homes. Caregivers work independently while receiving 24/7 support and guidance from office staff and access to the Senior Helpers community for support, guidance, training, networking, and other activities. The float caregiver is guaranteed 40 hours per week and helps meet clients’ needs. The position requires availability for shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and every other weekend, including accepting assignments with less than one hour’s notice and traveling to either side of Madison and outlying areas.
Requirements
- Have caregiver experience, with either CNA certification or at least two years of caregiving experience.
- Provide reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
- Be available for shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and every other weekend.
- Be ready to accept assignments with less than one hour’s notice.
- Be willing and able to travel to either side of Madison and outlying areas.
- Complete a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and conversation.
- Perform light housekeeping.
- Assist with walking and wheelchair use.
- Run errands and transport clients.
- Plan and prepare meals and assist with eating.
- Do laundry and change linens.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Monitor clients with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
- Assist clients to and from bed.
