About The Position

Senior Helpers Madison is hiring a full-time caregiver float to work one-on-one with clients in their homes. Caregivers work independently while receiving 24/7 support and guidance from office staff and access to the Senior Helpers Community for support, guidance, training, networking, and other activities. The float caregiver is guaranteed 40 hours per week and helps fulfill client needs. The schedule includes shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and every other weekend. Caregivers must be available to accept assignments with less than one hour’s notice and travel to either side of Madison and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Experienced caregiver with either a CNA credential or at least two years of caregiving experience.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
• Available for shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and every other weekend.
• Available and ready to accept assignments with less than one-hour notification.
• Willing and able to travel to either side of Madison and surrounding areas.
• Must complete a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Assist with walking and wheelchair use.
• Run errands and transport clients.
• Plan and prepare meals and assist with eating.
• Do laundry and change linens.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Monitor clients with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
• Assist clients to and from bed.
