About The Position

Visiting Angels of Tyler is hiring part-time caregivers to serve clients throughout East Texas, including Jacksonville, Bullard, Troup, Palestine, Frankston, and other areas. Caregivers support clients’ wellness and quality of life in accordance with individualized care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, household assistance, support with mobility and activities, and other client services. Schedules include 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, short shifts, and day shifts. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency-response training; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
