About The Position

Griswold Home Care for Howard County is actively hiring part-time Caregivers, CNAs, and PCAs to provide personal care, companionship, and homemaking support to older adults throughout Howard County, Maryland. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others and seek a job that offers flexibility around their personal lives. The position involves assisting clients with daily tasks to promote independence, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and providing care for clients with cognitive impairments or dementia. Caregivers are expected to be patient, kind, respectful, and attentive to detail, maintaining client dignity while ensuring comfort and care. Responsibilities also include keeping logs of care provided and submitting accurate documentation, as well as checking in with the office to provide timely updates.

Requirements

  • A caring, dependable, and responsible individual.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • TB Clearance per CDC guidance and Maryland RSA regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with current insurance and registration.
  • Willingness to travel within Howard County.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA certification is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One or more years of caregiving or home care experience is a plus — and caring for a loved one counts too!

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, companionship, and homemaking support to older adults.
  • Assist clients with daily tasks to promote independence.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Prepare meals and grocery shop for clients.
  • Provide caregiving services to clients with cognitive impairments or dementia.
  • Assist with non-medical tasks such as feeding and bathing.
  • Maintain client dignity while helping them stay comfortable and cared for.
  • Keep a log of the care provided during shifts.
  • Submit accurate documentation to ensure consistent care.
  • Check in with the office often, providing timely updates regarding client needs.
