About The Position

The Next Chapter Senior Care Solutions is seeking a warm, confident caregiver for ongoing weekend coverage for a senior male client in a private home in the Ahwatukee Foothills. The client is returning home after a recent health event and is at high risk of falling. He is largely independent and has no cognitive decline. The caregiver’s primary focus is safety-oriented companionship: staying close and observant, and stepping in with hands-on support as appropriate. Support needs are not extensive, and housekeeping is not part of the role. The client values independence and privacy and may need time to become comfortable with care at home. The caregiver should be friendly and low-key, able to read the room, give him space when appropriate, and remain nearby to help keep him safe. Shifts may include conversation, downtime, occasional movies or YouTube, and simple dinner preparation; the client also often orders dinner. The family is seeking a polished, discreet caregiver who can build trust and provide continuity over the months ahead. The starting schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., or 16 hours per week. The agency anticipates the Sunday shift may extend to roughly 10–12 hours within the first 4–6 weeks, bringing the schedule to about 20 hours per weekend. The exact timing will be determined once care is underway, with notice provided as the schedule firms up. Weekend shifts include differential pay. This role is tied to a specific client and an immediate start; additional client assignments may be considered based on experience and availability. The agency describes itself as a local, family-owned, concierge-level home care provider that emphasizes continuity, careful caregiver-client matching, ongoing training, communication, and support. Pay is $20–$25 per hour based on experience and certifications. Employment is W-2, with applicable overtime pay at 1.5 times the base rate. Other offerings include paid travel time between consecutive assignments, quarterly attendance incentives, shift differentials for select shifts, and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

  • Previous caregiving experience is required; non-traditional experience may be considered with the opportunity for additional training.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, DMV record check, and negative TB test before employment.
  • At least two positive employment references demonstrating professionalism and commitment.
  • Ability to work both weekend days on an ongoing basis, starting at 16 hours per week and open to a potential increase to about 20 hours per weekend.
  • Ability to provide warm, confident, discreet, and safety-conscious care in a private home.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA program completion or caregiving certification; the agency says this is highly preferred and offers caregiver certification before the first client assignment for candidates who do not already have it.
  • Confidence preparing simple home-cooked meals.
  • Experience and confidence suited to supporting a client who values independence and privacy.
