About The Position

BrightStar Care of Louisville is hiring caregivers to provide uplifting in-home and facility-based assistance to seniors and older adults who need help with daily activities and companionship. Caregivers may work full-time or part-time in 6–12-hour shifts, with flexible scheduling and day, evening, and weekend opportunities. Day shifts range from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and overnight shifts run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The position offers pay starting at $15.00–$17.00 per hour, weekly pay by direct deposit, and benefits including a 401(k), paid time off, and vacation time. BrightStar Care also provides in-house training, support from the Director of Nursing, referral bonuses, employee recognition, and opportunities for development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of formal caregiving experience in home care and/or a facility.
• Certified CPR and a negative TB skin test or chest X-ray; the employer will help candidates obtain these if needed.
• Licensed driver with an insured, reliable automobile and proof of insurance.
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull; assistance needs vary depending on client mobility.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Caregiver, CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide/Assistant, or in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, ambulation, and transfers.
• Accompany clients to grocery stores, doctor appointments, and pharmacy visits.
• Assist clients with active and passive mobility work as defined by the plan of care.
• Document observed changes and report them to the Director of Nursing.
