Caregiver - Memory Care
About The Position
Wellspring Lutheran Services is hiring a full-time Caregiver for its assisted living community in Saginaw. The Caregiver provides personal care and support to older adults, helping residents maintain dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life. The role emphasizes building trusting relationships and helping residents feel safe, respected, supported, and valued. Caregivers assist with daily living activities and mobility, support residents’ participation in meals and community activities, observe and communicate changes in residents’ conditions to nursing leadership, and may assist with medication administration if trained as a Medication Aide. The position requires dementia or memory care experience and includes day or night shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations.

Nice To Haves
- Experience providing care or services to older adults preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other daily living activities while protecting their dignity and privacy.
- Support residents’ independence and help them live comfortably and confidently.
- Help residents get to meals, activities, and social events, encouraging engagement and connection with the community.
- Observe residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns to nursing leadership.
- If trained as a Medication Aide, assist with medication administration and help ensure residents receive medications as prescribed.
- Work collaboratively with fellow caregivers and other team members to provide residents with compassionate, attentive care.
- Offer reassurance and support to residents and assist them in moving safely throughout the community.
