About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate part-time caregiver to provide in-home support to a client in Paola, Kansas. This assignment is approximately 7 hours per week. The client is visually impaired, has a dog, and smoking occurs in the home. The ideal caregiver will be patient, reliable, and comfortable working in this environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience
- Current CPR certification
- Comfortable working in a smoking household
- Comfortable working in a home with a dog
- Dependable and punctual
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures
- Availability for approximately 7 hours per week
Nice To Haves
- Experience assisting individuals who are blind or visually impaired is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living
- Help the client safely navigate the home environment
- Provide personal care assistance as needed
- Assist with meal preparation
- Perform light housekeeping related to client care
- Provide companionship and supervision
- Provide medication reminders as authorized
- Follow the client's individualized care plan
- Observe and report changes in the client's condition or needs
- Communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor
