Caregiver - All Shifts
About The Position
Visiting Angels is hiring caregivers to provide non-medical home care to seniors in Norwalk, Connecticut, and nearby communities. Caregivers help clients maintain independence and may support daily living activities or provide companionship. The role may require travel within Norwalk and surrounding communities, including Westport, Wilton, New Canaan, Darien, Weston, Stamford, and Fairfield. The position offers $17–$20 per hour for qualified applicants, flexible scheduling, and openings across full-time, part-time, overnight, and live-in schedules. Visiting Angels provides free caregiver training, online CEU courses, retailer perks and discounts, a wellness program with discounted gym membership, and health plans for full-time caregivers. Caregivers are supported by organized office staff who provide timely feedback.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- At least 6 months of caregiving experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak and read English.
Nice To Haves
- Dementia experience preferred.
- Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) preferred.
- Ability to work in a facility environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide non-medical assistance and companionship to seniors in their homes.
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, including bathing and dressing.
- Run household errands and provide transportation to and from appointments.
- Handle grocery shopping, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Monitor medication schedules and give reminders throughout the day.
