About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring Caregivers at The Residence at Shelburne Bay. This role offers the opportunity to advance to Med Tech's within the community. The Resident Care Associate provides for the needs of the elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. Duties include delivering services as outlined in each Resident's approved service plan.

Requirements

  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • Must have CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Actively participate in growing community occupancy by positively representing the community to potential residents, families, and professionals.
  • Complete community and State orientation training programs.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifying the nurse of self-administered medications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences, providing assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, reporting and documenting any changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and attend to residents' needs.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs as required.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement activities as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, as well as resident refusal of services, using the community computer tracking system.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offers cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
