About The Position

The Residence at Shelburne Bay is hiring Medication Technicians and Caregivers. This role involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. The duties include delivering services as outlined in the resident's approved service plan. The company promotes its mission and core values, encourages associates to play an active role in growing community occupancy, and requires completion of orientation and training programs. Associates are expected to assist residents with medications, engage them in meaningful interactions and activities of daily living, monitor for changes in needs and health status, assist with personal care and laundry, and ensure residents' living spaces are neat and orderly. The role also involves responding to emergency calls, participating in ongoing training, escorting residents, documenting services provided, and conducting programming for cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection. Requirements

  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Successfully complete the community's and any State orientation training program.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
  • Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and report/document any noticed changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs.
  • Participate in specialized staff training programs and mandatory education requirements dictated by State Regulation upon request.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document both scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, and residents' refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
