About The Position
McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. Through its Venice office, the agency is seeking dependable caregivers to provide individualized, one-on-one care that helps clients remain safe and supported in their homes. Assignments may include short visits, split shifts, standard shifts, or extended day and overnight shifts. Schedules are matched to current client needs, caregiver availability, location, and experience; hours and schedules may vary and cannot be guaranteed. Caregivers support clients with daily living, companionship, meals, medication reminders, light household tasks, and transportation when included in the care plan. They follow individualized care plans and supervisory or nursing direction and complete documentation using the WellSky app. HHA certification, Florida CNA licensure, or previous professional caregiving experience is welcomed but not required. The agency explains and guides selected candidates through any remaining onboarding requirements.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Current auto insurance with the caregiver listed as an allowed driver.
- Reliable transportation.
- Hands-on CPR certification; online-only CPR is not accepted.
- TB screening within the required timeframe or a qualifying chest X-ray.
- Level 2 AHCA background screening.
- Ability to communicate clearly and complete required documentation.
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct.
Nice To Haves
- HHA certification.
- Florida CNA licensure.
- Previous professional caregiving experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and meaningful activities.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
- Follow dietary instructions included in the client’s care plan.
- Provide medication reminders and observe and report changes in condition.
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and general tidying.
- Provide transportation for errands or appointments when included in the care plan.
- Follow individualized care plans and direction from supervisors or nursing staff.
- Complete required documentation using the WellSky app.
