About The Position

AdvisaCare is hiring caregivers/Home Health Aides to provide private-duty, in-home care for clients in the Grand Rapids/Alto area and surrounding communities. The role provides one-on-one care in the client’s home, with time to connect and assist each person. Shift work is available.

Care includes personal assistance, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, help with household tasks, and driving a handicap-accessible van as needed. The caregiver must be reliable and work well as part of a team.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently with integrity.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the service area.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and clear a background check.
• Reliability and ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing.
• Provide slide-board transfers.
• Assist with range-of-motion exercises, approximately 15 minutes.
• Assist with commode use.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Perform light housework, including cleaning and assistance with cooking as needed.
• Drive a handicap-accessible van as needed; the client can typically drive themself.
