We service cases in Bayport, Blue Point, Bohemia, Centereach, Central Islip, Coram, East Setauket, Holbrook, Holtsville, Islandia, Islip Terrace, Kings Park, Lake Grove, Mt. Sinai, Nesconset, Northport, Oakdale, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, St. James, Sayville, Selden, Hauppauge, Smithtown, Stony Brook, West Sayville, and areas farther east.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license
Reliable vehicle with up-to-date insurance
Experience working with seniors

Responsibilities

Meal preparation
Companionship
Medication reminders
Light housekeeping
Follow client care plans and provide updates as needed
Fall-risk oversight
Taking clients to appointments, food shopping, and errands as needed
Uphold the standards of Age-Friendly Care at Home (AFCH) certification by delivering personalized, respectful care that aligns with the 4Ms framework — What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility — and adhering to all Senior Helpers and APFM policies and best practices
Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships
Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies, including scrapbooking, gardening, games, and more
Prepare meals for your clients to enjoy
Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other activities of daily living
Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior
