Looking for Caregiver for Seniors
About The Position
Some people just need a little help to keep living life on their own terms. Maybe it is an older adult who wants to stay in the home they have lived in for 40 years. Maybe it is someone recovering from a health setback who just needs a hand until they get back on their feet. Whatever the situation, ComForCare Home Care San Diego has been serving Central San Diego families for over 20 years, and we are looking for caregivers who take that kind of work seriously. We are in the caring business, and that starts with the people we hire. If caring for others comes naturally to you, we want to hear from you.
Requirements
- A genuinely caring, dependable personality.
- Some experience in caregiving, professional or personal. If you have cared for a parent, grandparent, or neighbor, that counts.
- Reliable transportation and a valid California driver's license. You will need to get to your clients consistently and on time.
- Ability to clear a Live Scan background check
- Negative TB test result
- Registered Home Care Aide (HCA) with the State of California, or willingness to register
Nice To Haves
- CPR and First Aid a plus
Responsibilities
- Helping clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Preparing meals and assisting with eating
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and errands
- Medication reminders
- Transportation to doctor's appointments, errands, and social outings
- Providing companionship, whether that means watching a movie together, playing cards, or just being someone to talk to
- Helping clients move safely around their home
- Giving family caregivers a much needed break
