About The Position

Elite Care at Oatfield Estates, located in Milwaukie off Oatfield Road, prides itself on being different. We are not a typical long-term care facility run by a large corporation with thousands of employees. We are locally owned and operated. Our community is designed to provide residents and staff with excellent care, a high quality of life, and feelings of belonging, influence, and purpose. Additionally, we are the first community in Oregon to earn the JCAHO accreditation. As a caregiver with us, you will provide daily care to our residents by supporting their daily activities of living. This includes bathing/bathroom assistance and providing emotional support and encouragement and monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavioral needs, and overall necessities of our residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in behavioral health or similar required
  • Speak, read and write English fluently
  • Value and respect of those in long-term care
  • Have consistent attendance/reliable method of transportation
  • Ability to correspond and document properly in charts and portal
  • Excellent oral communication and reading comprehension skills

Responsibilities

  • Assisting residents with ADLS
  • Teamwork, cooperation, training & development
  • Assist clients with personal care, which may include (but is not limited to): Bathing/Bathroom Assistance Morning/Evening Preparations Morning/Evening Dress and attire
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and overall needs of clients
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment for both residents and colleagues
  • Ability to correspond and document properly for resident charting purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and ambulate quickly and often throughout a regular shift.
  • Must be able to pass a background check with the State of Oregon.
  • You must be authorized to work in the U.S. to apply.
  • Please have reliable means of transportation/commuting to work.
