About The Position

The Behavioral Health Clinician will utilize resources to meet patient care needs by collaborating with appropriate guardians and community agencies. This role involves assessing patients' problems, needs, and level of functioning, and writing appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis, age, and clinical presentation. The clinician will provide various treatment modalities and theoretical applications based on current clinical standards, assisting individuals, groups, and families through the therapeutic relationship. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating mental disorders, establishing and conducting appropriate interventions, and writing appropriate discharge plans. The clinician will also provide patient care according to established policies and procedures, design and implement effective patient education, develop and evaluate patient care, manage clients in crisis, and provide accurate documentation of patient care in the medical record. Case presentations in clinical team meetings and timely completion of assessments are also key functions. This position is part-time, with 24 hours per week, and offers premium pay for weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education required.
  • Dependent on program must be license-eligible and actively seeking appropriate licensure to practice counseling in the state of which one performs work.
  • Must have good therapeutic communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in an inpatient or hospital setting preferred.
  • Clinical experience preferred.
  • CPI and BLS HCP certification from AHA required within 90 days of hire if working in an inpatient psychiatric setting, Psychiatric Emergency Department or the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program.

  • Writes appropriate discharge plans based on individual needs of client and follows through with termination process.
  • Provides patient care according to established policies/procedures and professional standards of care.
  • Designs, plans, and implements effective patient education.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates patient care according to identified needs and managers clients in crisis.
  • Provides accurate and consistent documentation of patient care/response in the medical record.
  • Presents cases in clinical team members meetings in a clear, concise, and clinically relevant manner.
  • Completes all assessments within facility-established timeframes.
  • Coordinates discharge planning and of care for next provider.
