About The Position

The Stillman Career Specialist works on a part-time basis (25 hours/week) in collaboration with the University Career Center team to source and build internship and full-time job placement pipelines, provide supplemental resume, LinkedIn and interview skills coaching to Stillman students, collaborate with Stillman faculty to deliver career development sessions in the BUSI series courses, secure international internships for Stillman students, and assist international students in finding OPT opportunities. The consultant will be housed in the Stillman School and report to the dean of the School.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business or related field.
  • Extensive experience as a business professional, especially roles that involve networking with external stakeholders, independently managing significant projects and advising junior colleagues may substitute for a graduate degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to and engage with a wide variety of constituents.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a career professional or Human Resource representative.
  • Experience in a higher education environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Source and build internship and full-time job placement pipelines.
  • Provide supplemental resume, LinkedIn and interview skills coaching to Stillman students.
  • Collaborate with Stillman faculty to deliver career development sessions in the BUSI series courses.
  • Secure international internships for Stillman students.
  • Assist international students in finding OPT opportunities.
  • Engage in outreach to nearby organizations with the goals of building or strengthening pipelines for internship and full-time employment of Stillman undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Work with student organizations to host recruiters from prospective employers at club meetings.
  • Provide supplemental resume, LinkedIn and interview skills coaching to Stillman students through in-person, virtual and one-on-one sessions.
  • Hold regular office hours to coach students on a drop-in basis.
  • Collaborate with the BUSI Course Coordinator to deliver career development skills sessions to students enrolled in our required BUSI series courses (e.g., BUSI 1000 - Freshman Business Seminar).
  • Work with Stillman’s Institute for International Business and the University’s Office of International Programs to secure international internships via the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) international internship programs.
  • Assist international students in securing OPT opportunities.
