About The Position

Tallahassee State College (TSC) is seeking a full-time, grant-funded Career Development Specialist for a position located in Brooksville, FL. This role is part of a grant-funded initiative with FDC – Hernando CI. The specialist will provide services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants in restrictive housing, under the direction of the Lead Educator. Requirements

Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma
Two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry

Nice To Haves

An Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field

Responsibilities

Administration and interpretation of assessments
Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum
Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department
Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered
Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form, DC5-149 “Correctional Daily Attendance Roster”
Providing information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officers
Assisting the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions
