About The Position

This Graduate Assistant position within the Office of Career Development & Experiential Learning focuses on two main areas: Data & Assessment and Career-Oriented Advising, with additional support for Career Lab Operations. The role involves supporting data-informed decision-making through assessment, reporting, and analysis to measure student engagement, career readiness, and post-graduation outcomes. It also includes supporting undergraduate students and alumni in developing career readiness skills through advising and coaching, and contributing to the daily operations of the Career & Experiential Learning Lab.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a graduate degree program at Quinnipiac University.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and responsibly handle sensitive student information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with data collection, assessment, program evaluation, research, or analytics.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, presentations, or data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Qualtrics, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of career readiness competencies, experiential learning, student success initiatives, or career development theory.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, identify trends, and make recommendations for program improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the collection, organization, validation, and analysis of student engagement and career outcomes data
  • Assisting with administration and tracking of the First Destination Survey and other career outcomes assessment initiatives
  • Developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate key performance indicators and program outcomes
  • Monitoring student participation trends across career programs, workshops, events, appointments, and experiential learning opportunities
  • Assisting with data entry, auditing, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy across departmental systems and records
  • Conducting benchmarking and research on career services assessment practices and national standards
  • Collaborating with staff to identify opportunities for program improvement based on assessment findings
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations, annual reports, and accreditation-related documentation
  • Analyzing survey results and feedback data to assess student satisfaction, learning outcomes, and program effectiveness
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to university policies regarding student data and records
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on résumés, cover letters, and other application materials
  • Assisting students with job and internship search strategies
  • Conducting mock interviews and providing feedback on interview performance
  • Teaching networking strategies and professional communication practices
  • Guiding students in identifying experiential learning opportunities aligned with their career goals
  • Supporting drop-in advising hours and scheduled appointments
  • Greeting and assisting walk-in visitors in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Responding to student and alumni inquiries via email, phone, or in-person
  • Supporting the coordination and execution of career workshops, employer visits, career fairs, and campus events
  • Maintaining an organized and student-friendly workspace within the Career Lab
  • Assisting with resource development and career education materials
  • Supporting data collection initiatives such as the First Destination Survey or program assessment efforts
  • Collaborating with campus partners to support student engagement initiatives
