This position involves managing and promoting career assessment and vocational counseling through applicant interviews and qualification evaluations to determine employment needs, job skills, placement, training, and referrals within a case management system. The role ensures optimal delivery of employment services at the center during business hours, focusing on priority services for special-needs clients and ensuring required information is recorded in EmployOklahoma. The Career Coordinator will utilize EmployOklahoma for customer registration for employment, unemployment services, and additional education/training. Responsibilities include establishing Unemployment Insurance claims, interpreting benefit provisions, analyzing claims for accuracy, conducting fact-finding, and maintaining UI files with a focus on priority service to special-needs clients. The role requires communication with management, employers, applicants, claimants, and coworkers regarding job orders, referrals, job developments, and UI benefits, and preparing reports. The Career Coordinator will professionally manage career assessment, vocational counseling, job placement, employment services, and other social services at the local American Job Center in compliance with Department of Labor laws and regulations, prioritizing veterans and other special-needs applicants. Excellent customer-service skills are essential for optimal results and maintaining a friendly office atmosphere. Assistance will be provided with resource room duties, including UI eligibility, filing UI claims, and training on UI functions and compensation services. The role also includes assisting with receptionist duties as assigned, participating in team meetings and required training/cross-training, and utilizing office machinery safely.
