About The Position

ARC Voyagers is seeking a passionate Career Coach to join their supportive and caring team. This role focuses on helping high school-aged individuals with disabilities explore their strengths, discover employment opportunities, and develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in competitive integrated employment. The Career Coach will champion employment goals, provide individualized training and mentoring, build employer partnerships, support job seekers throughout the employment journey, promote independence and self-advocacy, adapt coaching approaches, maintain quality documentation, promote safe workplaces, and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve successful employment outcomes.

Requirements

  • 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Must submit to BCII/FBI background checks and Nurse Aide & Abuser Registry checks.
  • Must maintain American Red Cross or equivalent First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid State of Ohio driver's license and ability to meet ARC Voyagers' insurability standards.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must complete required DODD training upon hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential or obtain the credential within 12 months of hire, as assigned.
  • Must obtain Working Incentive Planning certification within the first six months of employment, as assigned.
  • Physical exam may be required based on job assignment.

  • Champion employment goals by helping high school-aged individuals explore career interests, identify strengths, and pursue meaningful employment opportunities.
  • Coach for success by providing individualized training, mentoring, and support to help high school-aged individuals build workplace skills and confidence.
  • Build meaningful employer partnerships by developing positive relationships with local businesses and identifying opportunities that align with individual goals and abilities.
  • Support job seekers throughout the employment journey by assisting with job exploration, applications, interviews, onboarding, and maintaining employment.
  • Promote independence and self-advocacy by empowering high school-aged individuals to make informed decisions and take an active role in their career development.
  • Provide individualized support by adapting coaching and training approaches to meet each person's communication style, learning needs, and goals.
  • Maintain quality documentation by completing required service documentation and reports accurately and on time while meeting productivity expectations.
  • Promote safe and successful workplaces by identifying potential health and safety concerns and helping individuals navigate workplace environments.
  • Collaborate with others by working with families, employers, agency teams, and community partners to support successful employment outcomes.
  • Make a lasting impact by helping high school-aged individuals build careers, increase independence, and experience greater inclusion in their communities.
