The Career Coach will have a caseload of 10 participants aged 14-18. This role involves facilitating groups, preferably Restorative Justice circles, and running a weekly Career Club for participants in the Advanced stage. The Career Club will cover topics such as career planning, goal setting, resume building, interviewing, and conflict resolution. The Career Coach will assist the Program Manager in developing and securing Project and Internship sites for participants. Responsibilities include 1:1 meetings with participants to discuss program performance, daily review of scorecards addressing Attendance, Preparedness, Performance, Attitude, and Participation, and overseeing a Work Team at Project sites. The Career Coach will work 10 hours per week, including some weekdays and Saturdays, and will oversee participants in the Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Summer stages of the program. This role requires collaboration with the ECHOES Probation Officer. The program's goals are to engage participants in transformational relationships that enable them to remain in school and their communities while improving educational, employment, and social/emotional competencies to lead law-abiding lives, ultimately aiming to reduce recidivism within the criminal justice system.
