About The Position

The Career Coach provides comprehensive workforce development and case management services to individuals participating in VOA workforce programs. This position is responsible for guiding participants through every stage of the employment process, including career planning, workforce readiness, job placement, retention, and career advancement. The Career Coach works collaboratively with employers, community partners, and internal staff to ensure participants receive the support, resources, and services needed to achieve sustainable employment and self-sufficiency. This position requires strong professional judgment, relationship-building skills, and the ability to maintain compliance with grant requirements, documentation standards, and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business, Education, Workforce Development, Counseling, or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum one year of experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, vocational rehabilitation, behavioral health, recovery support, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to identify and enroll eligible participants.
  • Develop individualized employment and service plans that support participant goals and program outcomes.
  • Provide career coaching, employment counseling, and workforce readiness training.
  • Assist participants with career exploration, job search strategies, resume development, interview preparation, and employment applications.
  • Coordinate supportive services and community resources to address barriers to employment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to identify job opportunities and support participant success.
  • Coordinate participant interviews, employment placements, and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor participant progress, maintain regular contact, and update service plans as needed.
  • Complete required case notes, participant documentation, and database entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational, contractual, grant, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track participant outcomes and performance measures
  • Maintain participant confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, outreach activities, quality assurance efforts, and special projects.
  • Represent VOA professionally with employers, community agencies, workforce partners, and stakeholders.
