About The Position
The Arc Erie County NY is a leading nonprofit supporting people with developmental & intellectual disabilities across Western New York, through innovative residential, educational, clinical and employment services. Proudly celebrating our 75th anniversary, we remain committed to empowering individuals and building inclusive communities. Our Career Coach position works one on one with individuals with a disability and aid in common areas of employment services (job readiness, job development, job coaching, etc.)
Requirements
- Associate’s degree PLUS (1) years full time, paid, direct service experience OR High school diploma PLUS (3) years full time, paid, direct service experience.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License w/ approved record.
Nice To Haves
- Professional certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop career exploration opportunities, job shadows, work-based learning experiences, paid or unpaid internships, and pre-post-employment service planning.
- Assist individuals in attaining employment opportunities to fit their personal transition and career goals.
- Visit worksites to assess performance and progression of individuals’ workload.
- Maintain Department of Labor guidelines for work experience and career exploration for students and individuals with disabilities.
