About The Position

The Part-Time Career Coach will provide individualized career coaching to students, helping them explore career options, clarify goals, and develop personalized career action plans. This role also involves delivering career readiness coaching through one-on-one appointments and group workshops, managing department scheduling, and supporting institutional efforts to build relationships with alumni, employers, and community partners. The coach will design and facilitate engaging career exploration programs and workshops, utilize career development technologies, maintain student records, and collaborate with other departments. Staying current with employment trends is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in Career Advisement, Student Personnel Services, Advising, or Student Development
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent written, computer, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized career coaching to help students explore career options, clarify goals, and develop personalized career action plans
  • Delivers career readiness coaching through one-on-one appointments and group workshops focused on resumes, interviewing, networking, professional communication, LinkedIn and career planning
  • Helps manage appointment and event scheduling for the department
  • Actively supports institutional efforts to establish relationships with alumni, employers, and community partners to create meaningful career exploration opportunities, including but not limited to job shadowing, informational interviews, career, mentoring, and other experiences that expose students to a variety of career pathways
  • Designs and facilitates engaging career exploration programs, career readiness workshops, employer information sessions, alumni panels, networking events, and other educational experiences that prepare student for future career success
  • Utilizes career development technologies, presentation software, virtual engagement tools, and student success platforms to enhance coaching and programming (Handshake, Indeed Job Search Academy and LinkedIn)
  • Maintains student records and collects data on student success and outcomes in accordance with FERPA regulations
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Counseling and Student Wellness, EOF, Civic Engagement, and Academic Affairs
  • Stays current with employment and career readiness trends
  • Performs other duties as assigned
