About The Position

The Career Ambassador Program is a new peer education and leadership initiative of the PACE Center designed to expand access to career development across Saint Mary’s. Career Ambassadors (CAs) will be trained as peer educators to engage in career development with fellow students, encourage reflection and exploration, and connect students with resources for success in their professional journeys. CAs are not expected to be career experts. They will learn to provide foundational career education, direct students to resources, and recognize when a student should be referred to a professional career advisor.

Requirements

• Sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student with at least one year remaining at the College.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when engaging with individuals and groups.
• Dependability, professionalism, initiative, and follow-through.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and continuously develop professional skills.
• Enjoy helping others with an interest in peer leadership and career development.
• Ability to work effectively with students from a variety of backgrounds, majors, and interests.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-to-peer guidance during walk-in hours and outreach activities.
• Help students navigate PACE Center services and resources, including Handshake and The Bridge.
• Provide foundational assistance with resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interviewing, networking, internship searching, and job searching using PACE-approved resources and training.
• Recognize when students need individualized support and refer them to professional career advisors or appropriate campus resources.
• Support career fairs, employer meetups, workshops, networking events, mentorship programming, and career pop-ups. Welcome and engage students, employers, alumnae, faculty, and staff at PACE Center events.
• Develop relationships with student organizations and campus partners to expand outreach.
• Provide feedback to help shape and improve the inaugural Career Ambassador Program.
