About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking outgoing individuals with a passion for Copper and its guests to serve as Resort Ambassadors. This volunteer role requires individuals who are guest service oriented, knowledgeable about the resort, its facilities, activities, events, and lifts, and familiar with Summit County events and recreational activities. Resort Ambassadors are expected to embody a professional and friendly image, communicate effectively, and represent Copper Mountain positively. The commitment involves a minimum of 14 volunteer days throughout the winter season (Mid-November through Mid-April), including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are typically from 8 am to 4:30 pm with a one-hour lunch break. All candidates must also complete a day-long orientation and training. An ability to ski or ride at an advanced intermediate level is mandatory. Past experience at Copper is considered a plus.

Requirements

Commitment to volunteering a minimum of 14 days throughout the season (Mid-November through Mid-April).
Ability to volunteer for shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Availability to attend and complete a day-long orientation and training.
Ability to ski/ride at an advanced intermediate level.
Must be of good physical and medical condition.
Able to walk, stand, and ski/ride for extended periods at 9600 feet and above.
Able to volunteer outdoors in winter conditions.
Must be able to read Copper Mountain literature & forms.
Ability to deal with all levels of activity for long periods.
Able to speak clearly and have adequate hearing ability for conversations in a noisy environment.
Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must speak and read English fluently.

Nice To Haves

Past summer and/or winter experience at Copper is a plus.
If not a strong skier/rider, may be considered as a snowshoe ambassador, meeting/greeting in the base area, leading snowshoe tours, and performing other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Meet, greet, and engage in conversation with guests upon arrival at the resort.
Guide guests and answer their questions.
Fulfill specific daily expectations in base villages and on the mountain, providing exceptional service, accurate information, and enthusiastic assistance.
Provide daily ski/ride mountain orientation tours and/or snowshoe tours.
Support events, promotions, services, and activities by disseminating accurate and helpful information.
Interact professionally with other departments and promote a team-player atmosphere.
Report any injuries or unsafe conditions observed on the mountain or in base areas.
Function as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper culture.
Uphold a professional image and strive to exceed guest expectations.
Accept new responsibilities and transfer others as the role evolves.
