About The Position

As a Career Advisor with the Bureau of Workforce Partnership and Operations, you will play a key role in connecting people with training, resources, and job opportunities. This position gives you the chance to support both jobseekers and employers while helping strengthen the local workforce. The Career Advisor helps jobseekers explore careers, develop skills, and connect with employment opportunities while also supporting employers with their workforce needs. This role supports strong customer service, clear communication, and helpful guidance.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) training program; or
  • One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, discuss goals, and help individuals make informed career decisions
  • Provide coaching on resumes, interviews, job searches, and related topics
  • Assist businesses with job postings, hiring strategies, and recruitment needs
  • Track progress, update plans, and coordinate services to support employment goals
  • Promote services and build relationships with local organizations and partners
  • Document services and maintain required reports for workforce programs
