As an emerging leader, this role ensures the achievement of contract deliverables, staff satisfaction, and the provision of high-quality services to program participants. The position requires maintaining a strong knowledge base of the state’s TANF requirements and procedures, and providing strengths-based case management and career and vocational advising support to a caseload of program participants. The Career Advisor II assumes central responsibility for empowering participants to achieve self-sufficiency by monitoring progress through the program cycle, from referral through retention and advancement efforts. This role involves maintaining a full caseload (up to 25 cases) with a focus on active engagement and support through training and/or employment. The position requires expert knowledge of WORCS and the state’s TANF database for accurate documentation and quality assurance. The Career Advisor II will maintain updated information about area resources, trainings, educational opportunities, and employers, and facilitate community-based referrals. In partnership with the Business Services Consultant, they will source employment resources and develop OJT/Job Ready placements for non-English speaking participants. The role includes identifying, developing, and leading engaging curriculum and workshops to motivate and support participant success, and suggesting innovative ideas to promote participant engagement and long-term success. As a lead staff member at satellite sites, the Career Advisor II will develop a strong knowledge of and engagement with the community and its resources, ensuring high-quality services, workshop schedules, and participant engagement. In partnership with the leadership team, they will identify and develop areas of expertise to support programmatic needs and develop community supports for education barriers, housing stability, and community relationships. The role also involves instructing on-site ESOL classes, traveling to satellite sites as needed, providing informal support to new and existing staff, and actively participating in new staff trainings. The Career Advisor II will fully utilize supervision for personal and professional growth, gain supervisory skills, serve as a mentor to identified staff, and develop and lead staff satisfaction and growth activities. Collaboration with other staff members is essential to achieve individual and organizational goals. Other duties as assigned.
