About The Position

The Care Tech provides direct and indirect care for telemetry patients in an acute-care setting, working under the direction of Nurse Managers, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses. The role includes patient monitoring, communication with the nursing team, assistance with personal care and daily needs, and support for patient comfort and safety. Care Techs collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must hold an Alabama-recognized certification or qualification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or EMT, or be currently enrolled in a nursing program.
• If enrolled in a nursing program, must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing and provide documentation.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of Nurse Managers, RNs, and LPNs.
• Provide personal care and comfort and help ensure patient safety.
• Take vital signs.
• Assist nursing personnel.
• Help patients with basic daily needs.
• Communicate effectively and independently carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
