Care Partner-Adult Day
About The Position
The Adult Day-Care Partner supports adults attending the Among Friends Adult Day Center at the Marlin & Doris Thomas Memory Center. The role focuses on building relationships, creating moments of joy, and helping members live life to the fullest through meaningful engagement, companionship, and compassionate support. The position uses a person-directed approach that recognizes members’ strengths, abilities, personal interests, and opportunities for fulfilling experiences. The Care Partner helps members experience connection, purpose, comfort, and dignity throughout their day, including individuals living with dementia. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with starting pay of $18.00 per hour or more based on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compassion for older adults and individuals living with dementia.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Comfort using computerized software systems.
- Reliable attendance and dependability.

Responsibilities
- Assist members with activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity.
- Facilitate engaging recreational, social, physical, and creative activities.
- Build meaningful relationships with members and their families.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and stimulating environment.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement.
- Assist with meals and snacks in a respectful, person-centered manner.
- Observe and communicate changes in members’ physical, emotional, or cognitive well-being.
- Collaborate with team members to create joyful, personalized experiences.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe member spaces.
- Assist with transportation of members as needed.
