About The Position

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Direct Care Staff for its Hawthorn Adult Day Health program in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Hawthorn supports adults with varied medical and psychological needs by providing medical services, social activities, and supervision that enables their regular caregivers to attend to other responsibilities. Direct Care Staff support clients with activities of daily living, organize and implement recreational activities including community outings, maintain professional and supportive boundaries, and use problem-solving skills. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., paying $20.50 per hour. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass CPR and First Aid certification.
• Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle.
• Approved driving record check.
• Approved criminal background check (CORI).
• Pass the preplacement work physical.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with computers.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in the Human Services field is a plus.
