Care Partner (CNA) – 4th Floor Telemetry - Per Diem 12 Hour Night Shift (Union)(Fixed-Term)
About The Position
The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in patient care delivery, clerical functions, organization of the unit environment, and equipment setup and maintenance. The emphasis on each area depends on the assigned unit. This position is assigned to the 4th Floor Telemetry unit and is a per-diem, 12-hour night-shift, fixed-term, union position. USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is part of Keck Medicine of USC and is a community hospital in the Los Angeles Foothills backed by an academic medical center. The hospital provides personalized care, 24/7 emergency services, and access to medical advancements, research, and clinical trials.
Requirements
- Current California Certified Nurse Assistant certification from the California Department of Public Health, or one of the listed alternatives: active enrollment in an accredited nursing program with equivalent training and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing with a grade of B or better; completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program in the United States or a foreign country; or medical training in military service.
- Six months to one year of Certified Nursing Assistant experience; acute-care experience is preferred based on the unit definition. Alternatively, maintain active enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to pass a four-hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data-entry training course.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and complete work on time amid competing requirements and a heavy workload.
- Maintain active California Certified Nurse Assistant certification or verified enrollment in, or completion of, a qualifying nursing or psychiatric technician program; military medical training; or qualifying licensure from a foreign country or the United States.
- Remain actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program when relying on enrollment as a qualification. Graduates or individuals who leave the program will be suspended from work and have 30 calendar days to re-enroll or obtain California Certified Nurse Assistant certification.
- Obtain AB508 Management of Assaultive Behavior certification within 30 days of hire if not held at hire, and maintain it through renewal before expiration.
