About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Care Partner for the Cardiac Stepdown unit, working full-time night shifts. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, VUMC is a leading institution in patient care, education, and research. This role involves assisting with patient care and maintaining unit standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and either current enrollment in an RN program, graduation from a Nursing Assistant program within the past year, or at least one year of recent experience as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician. The schedule is full-time, three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating schedules determined by unit needs. All employees must attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours in their first week.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), OR Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), OR Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
