About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a dedicated Care Partner for the Burn Center. This full-time night shift position involves assisting with patient care and maintaining unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The Vanderbilt Burn Center provides world-class care to burn patients of all ages, offering both physical and emotional support from acute care through discharge and beyond. The unit is a 23-bed facility, with 8 beds dedicated to intensive care, and specializes in complex issues within a designated Level 1 burn center serving a wide geographic area. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
  • AND one of the following:
  • Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical)
  • OR Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required)
  • OR Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

  • All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
  • Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
  • Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
  • Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
