About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Care Partner for the Burn Center. This role is crucial in assisting with patient care and maintaining unit standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. VUMC is a community dedicated to advancing health and wellness through patient care, education, and research, fostering an environment where expertise is valued and individuality is celebrated. The Vanderbilt Burn Center provides comprehensive care to burn patients of all ages, offering both physical and emotional support throughout their recovery. The unit is a 23-bed facility, with 8 beds dedicated to intensive care, and specializes in complex cases, serving a wide geographic area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
  • AND one of the following:
  • Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical)
  • OR Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required)
  • OR Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
  • Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
  • Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
  • Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
