About The Position

The Care Management Support Assistant 3 contributes to the administration of care management by providing non-clinical support to the assessment and evaluation of members' needs and requirements to achieve and/or maintain an optimal wellness state. This role guides members/families toward and facilitates interaction with appropriate resources for their care and well-being. The Care Management Support Assistant 3 performs advanced administrative/operational/customer support duties requiring independent initiative and judgment, focusing on methods, tactics, and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects. The role involves regularly exercising discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting/adapting procedures, processes, and techniques, working under limited guidance due to previous experience and knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge. Responsibilities include developing Job Aids and training on specific CMSA job processes, managing inbound and outbound calls with members, their families, and providers, and performing computations, including data entry, in adherence to established metrics. Decisions are typically focused on interpreting area/department policy and methods for completing assignments, working within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, with some latitude over prioritization/timing. The role follows standard policies/practices allowing for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and independent discretion. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager, Care Manager Support and Associate Director, Care Management Support depending on business needs.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
  • 1 - 3 years of technical experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Administration support experience in a healthcare industry with familiarity with care and well-being resources
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Self-provided internet service must meet at minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Nice To Haves

  • Reside in, or within a commutable distance to, Schaumburg office and the ability to travel to the Chicago downtown office as needed (2 to 3 days per week)
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Access
  • Familiarity with Medical terminology
  • Previous experience working with Medicaid, Long Term Care (LTC), and/or Medicare members
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities
