About The Position

The Care and Treatment Worker supports youth and their families who are experiencing significant social, emotional, and behavioral barriers and challenges in an intensive 24-hour therapeutic setting. New Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited children’s mental health agency providing a range of compassionate, innovative, and accessible services for children, youth, and their families throughout Simcoe County.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education, Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or equivalent.
• Minimum two years' experience supporting youth with complex needs in a therapeutic environment.
• Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
• Confident, articulate, and professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license with a minimum G2.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel using agency vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• French language is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support youth and their families experiencing significant social, emotional, and behavioral barriers and challenges.
• Provide care in an intensive 24-hour therapeutic setting.
• Engage youth and families meaningfully and collaborate to facilitate positive change.
• Partner with clients/families in treatment planning, goal setting, and anticipated outcomes using a strengths-based approach.
• Adapt to changing conditions and situations in the workplace.
• Deliver crisis intervention using a Ministry-approved training program, including physical techniques.
• Travel using an agency vehicle.
