About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the cleaning and maintenance of County facilities. This position is primarily a custodial role, with a portion of time spent outdoors performing landscape duties. Essential functions include driving, standing, walking, reaching, crouching, bending, and stooping to perform maintenance work; lifting and carrying up to sixty (60) pounds when loading and unloading trucks; team lifting up to 100 pounds; working with and around other employees and co-workers; working with frequent interruptions; repetitive motion of hand, wrists, elbow, and shoulders; hearing and speech for communication; and the ability to safely use ladders up to 13 feet in height. This position is non-exempt from overtime and is safety sensitive.

Requirements

  • One year of custodial experience
  • Ability to operate a variety of custodial and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to maintain a safe workplace
  • Ability to read and understand product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and apply appropriate safety precautions
  • Ability to effectively handle lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to report to work during declared Facility department, county and state emergencies
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment
  • Experience with janitorial services
  • Experience with outdoor yard maintenance
