The Family Centre is seeking an on-call casual Family Time Support Worker (FTSW) to provide support to marginalized children and families involved with Children and Family Services. This role focuses on supporting families, particularly those from First Nations, Metis, Inuit, Refugee, and first-generation Canadian backgrounds, who have experienced trauma and multigenerational abuse and neglect. The FTSW will facilitate family time sessions in the community and client homes, focusing on hand-over-hand teaching to enhance parent-child attachment, reinforce parental strengths, and improve parenting skills. This includes educating parents on child development, play, structure, routine, and positive discipline. The FTSW will also transport children to and from family time and may provide occasional childcare. The organization emphasizes Trauma-Informed Care, evidence-based practices, and a diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment, with a commitment to Indigenous ceremony and practice.
