About The Position

Cardiovascular Technologist – Cath Lab Technologist is a travel temporary assignment in a hospital setting located in Kansas City, Kansas, United States. This is a 13-week contract assignment with a start date of 09/20/2026. The role involves supporting high-volume diagnostic and interventional left heart catheterizations, right heart catheterizations, and structural heart cases. The technologist will operate cath lab equipment, monitor patients, maintain sterile technique, and ensure radiation safety. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting physicians, documenting procedures, and assisting with post-procedure care. The position requires adherence to unit policies and participation in on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Active licensure/certification: ARRT (R), RCVT, or RCIS
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Experience: Cath Lab experience with interventional and diagnostic left heart caths; right heart caths (with/without biopsy); exposure to structural and vascular cases
  • Ability to work in a hospital setting with on-call requirements and a high-volume lab schedule
  • Will participate in a 2-day orientation during the first week

Responsibilities

  • Support high-volume diagnostic and interventional left heart catheterizations, and perform right heart catheterizations with or without biopsy.
  • Involve in structural heart cases such as TAVR, Mitraclip, PFO/ASD repair, and Watchman device procedures.
  • Participate in peripheral vascular procedures including peripheral run-offs, EVAR, and TEVAR as part of the cath lab service lines.
  • Operate cath lab equipment, monitor patient status and hemodynamics, maintain sterile technique, and ensure radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Prepare patients and lab for procedures, assist physicians during interventions, and document case details; assist with post-procedure care and turnover.
  • Contribute to a busy schedule (approximately 25–30 cases per day) with a small team, coordinating with the cardiosurgery/EP teams as needed and adhering to unit protocols.
  • Adhere to unit policies, participate in orientation, and fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned.
