About The Position

Join our Cardiac Catherization team as a Cardiovascular Technologist at the University of Miami. The Cardiovascular Catheterization Technologist performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist the physicians during cardiovascular procedures and surgeries. Performs EKG lead placement, blood pressure and pulse oximetry setup for hemodynamic monitoring. Prepares sterile procedure tray and patient sterile field appropriately for specified procedure type. Operates physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains responsibility for procedure room preparation and breakdown duties. Acquires and accurately documents pertinent patient data on encounter form and enters hemodynamic and X-ray systems. Performs basic Electrophysiology (EP) procedures. Operates Electrophysiology (EP) recording and EP Mapping Systems independently. Assists physician with Electrophysiology (EP) Diagnostic and Mapping systems. Assists physician with advanced mapping systems and pulsed field ablation techniques. Mentors, trains, and is responsible for the successful completion of orientating new staff. Participates in unit-based practice council. Participates in quality and safety committee for Electrophysiology (EP).

Requirements

  • Associate degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
