About The Position

The Cardiovascular Technologist Extern, under supervision of a Cardiovascular Technologist, performs basic imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
• BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
• Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Escorts the patient to and from the procedure suite and assists as needed with patient arrival and departure from the department.
• Assists the patient, as applicable, in preparing for the procedure by assisting patient gowning, and transfer to exam table.
• Greets patients upon arrival to the department and consistently facilitates the patient's department experience.
• Assesses the patient's needs related to comfort, and provides support accordingly.
• Under direct supervision, provides direct patient care as needed to facilitate CVL including but not limited to sterile tray set up, prepping patient, pulling of supplies, scrub procedures, and circulating.
• Supports the Cardiovascular Technologist in the planning and execution of imaging procedures meeting the standards of the department.
• Coordinates the inpatient department flow by maintaining communication between the department and patient floors.
• Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification.
