About The Position

The Cardiovascular Technician performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures using specialized imaging equipment in the Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab and non-invasive imaging settings. This role supports physicians by assisting during procedures, scrubbing and monitoring patients, and performing high-quality cardiovascular and vascular imaging studies, including echocardiography and peripheral vascular exams, in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice. The Cardiovascular Technician applies knowledge of ultrasound principles, anatomy, physiology, and imaging modalities to optimize image quality, recognize pathology, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure accurate documentation in PACS. Strong critical thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment are essential.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalency
  • Graduate of CAAHEP approved school of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a Cardiovascular lab or special procedures preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures using specialized imaging equipment in the Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab and non-invasive imaging settings.
  • Supports physicians by assisting during procedures, scrubbing and monitoring patients.
  • Performs high-quality cardiovascular and vascular imaging studies, including echocardiography and peripheral vascular exams, in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
  • Applies knowledge of ultrasound principles, anatomy, physiology, and imaging modalities to optimize image quality, recognize pathology, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure accurate documentation in PACS.
  • Must be able to meet requirements of departmental on call policy.
