About The Position

HSHS St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Technician to join the Cath Lab in a PRN capacity. Ideal candidates will assist the physician with the performance of invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, neuro and electrophysiology procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, and interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. They will support the education, training, quality improvement and research processes in the department and excels in a subspecialty area of expertise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 4 years of cath lab or special procedures experience is required
  • Cross-trained and able to rotate to perform at least four (4) functional skill sets as delegated in any diagnostic or interventional case type performed
  • Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required (for hires/transfers, including promotions/career progressions, after July 2023)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a certificate/training program or Associates degree in health sciences is preferred (including but not limited to cardiovascular technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, or emergency medical services)
