Requirements

  • Licensure or Certification in degree field
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • 3 years in interventional cardiology/ radiology at a CVT I or equivalent level
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Certifications: (One of the Following): Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists (RCIS) International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Certification (IBHRE) Cardiac Interventional Radiology Examination Certification Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Enter new data as needed.
  • Monitors heart rhythms, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
  • Reports any changes to the appropriate person.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assists cardiologist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Administers medications to patients under the supervision of attending physicians.
  • Plans, implements, documents, and evaluates all aspects of radiation safety and monitoring of radiographic procedural modification.
  • Performs advanced imaging technique under the guidance of Cardiologist
