About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Grapevine as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! Our Cardiovascular Unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. We foster an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes Cardiac, Stroke, and Sepsis patients, with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:3 based on acuity in a 16-bed unit. The department has a high percentage of BSN-prepared nurses and PCCN certifications, with some staff cross-trained to ICU. There is strong physician/nursing collaboration and daily huddles to focus on unit metrics and process improvement ideas. This is a seasonal, full-time position requiring three 12-hour shifts per week for a 13-week contract, with the first week dedicated to orientation. Although a short-term assignment, you will be a Baylor employee with the potential to convert to a regular role upon completion. As a Seasonal RN, you will align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress to help patients navigate the healthcare system safely and reduce complications.

Requirements

Graduated from an Accredited Program in Nursing.
1 year of recent PCU experience.
Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.

Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
