The role is open to experienced CVOR nurses and experienced registered nurses interested in transitioning into cardiovascular surgery. Qualified nurses may be selected for an approximately seven-month AORN Perioperative Training Program featuring classroom instruction, hands-on clinical training, and dedicated preceptor support. The nurse works with surgeons and multidisciplinary professionals during cardiac and vascular procedures.
