Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Operating Room
About The Position
The Perioperative Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during the perioperative period, using specialized knowledge and skills to achieve desired outcomes. The nurse acts as a patient advocate, assesses the surgical environment for potential patient-safety concerns, and intervenes appropriately while working with the surgical team to facilitate completion of procedures. The nurse may also orient new staff, contribute to educational programs, and secure and maintain supplies and equipment needed to deliver care. The position is based at Glenbrook Hospital and is full time, with hours of 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus rotating call, weekend, and holiday schedules.
Requirements
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
- Illinois RN license.
- CPR BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Two years of RN experience in perioperative care.
